On Saturday, Oct. 3, Seattle Children’s transitioned to using the Epic electronic medical record system (EMR). PHIN and eReferral are no longer in use.

Patient health information is now available to community providers via the web-based application EpicCare Link. Providers may also use EpicCare Link to submit referrals to Seattle Children’s, although faxed referrals will still be accepted.

Previous users of PHIN and eReferral should have received their new log-in credentials for EpicCare Link in September.  If you did not, please contact us at [email protected].

If you are a Seattle Children’s Care Network (SCCN) user, nothing has changed in how you access your patients’ medical records; please continue to log in to EpicCare Link as usual through the Okta portal. Likewise, any provider with a Seattle Children’s badge ID should access EpicCare Link through Okta.

If you are not yet signed up for EpicCare link:

Please see the sign-up link on the healthcare professionals section of our website.

Patient visit reports: What to expect

Patient reports generated by Epic look different from our previous reports generated by CIS.

  • Outpatient reports are organized a little differently but contain the same easy-to-find information.
  • Emergency Department and inpatient reports are now longer than you are used to getting from Seattle Children’s. We do not have the option with Epic to shorten or customize these reports the way we did previously.

My Chart replaces MySeattleChildrens

MyChart is now our patients’ and families’ one-stop shop to communicate with our providers and manage their health information. They can view their past information in our previous (Cerner) patient portal, MySeattleChildrens, through the end of this year.

Please call our Provider Help Desk at 206-987-4444 if you need assistance with EpicCare Link.
