Due to a shortage of testing reagents combined with a surge in demand for testing, we must temporarily decrease the number of COVID-19 tests administered at Seattle Children’s. We have temporarily suspended COVID-19 testing for the community. Effective immediately, we are not accepting referrals from primary care providers for COVID-19 testing.
We continue to offer COVID-19 testing to:
- Our patients who are having surgery, an aerosol-generating procedure or a hospital stay at Seattle Children’s.
- Seattle Children’s patients who have signs or symptoms of COVID-19, including those seen in our ED and Urgent Cares.
We are not offering testing to:
- Asymptomatic Seattle Children’s patients who fall outside the categories above, including those who have a positive antigen test from the community or home, those with a high risk of exposure due to close contact with someone who has COVID-19 or those wanting testing for travel purposes.
- Anyone who is not a Seattle Children’s patient, including symptomatic individuals.
We will let you know as soon as testing is available again to the community.
