Children’s Not Providing COVID Vaccine Boosters

  • Seattle Children’s is not providing COVID-19 booster shots at this time.
  • COVID-19 boosters have not yet been authorized by the Food and Drug Administration or recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and we have not received any vaccine designated for administration as boosters.

Adjustments to Seattle Children’s Mask Guidance

  • Effective Tuesday, July 27, 2021, masks are required for everyone at all Seattle Children’s locations, regardless of vaccination status, including non-clinical locations and outdoors.
  • Daily entrance screening attestation for symptoms is still required.
  • As we’ve done throughout the pandemic, we will continue to follow public health guidance and expertise, align our practices and policies as applicable and share updated information.

Reminder: ED Use and Surging Hospital Occupancy in Our Region

  • Many Washington hospitals are reporting occupancies over 100%, significant Emergency Department (ED) boarding of inpatients and delays in transferring patients to higher levels of care.
  • Seattle Children’s has high inpatient and ED volumes and staffing shortages in some areas and is actively preparing our ED and intensive care units for surges.
  • Please manage patients in outpatient settings whenever possible to help reduce visits to Seattle Children’s ED and hospital admissions.
